2023
The first MARIE seminar in 2023 will take place on February 23th. For the first time we will be meeting in Dresden, thanks to the colleagues of TU Dresden for organizing this event.
It will include a demonstration of the new MARIE robot as well as a guided tour at Bosch Semiconductors.

2022
The first MARIE seminar in 2022 will take place on February 28th.
Topic of the seminar will be MARIE´s lead project 1: "Localization with drone/mobile robot using electronics".
We are glad to announce that Dr. Indra Ghosh from IMST GmbH will give a keynote speech on “Low phase noise oscillators for mm-wave applications”. In addition to contributions from MARIEs PhD students a short tutorial on “RF Payload integration for drone applications” will be given by Mr. Jonas Lehmke also from IMST GmbH.

Topic of the seminar will be MARIE´s lead project 4: "Material characterization using photonics".
We are glad to announce that for the morning session, we will have Prof. Mona Jarrahi from the University of California Los Angeles as a Keynote speaker. She will talk about “Plasmonic Terahertz Imaging and Spectroscopy Systems” virtually via zoom.
For the afternoon session, we will have Dr. Antoine Calleau from SWISSto12 company as a Keynote speaker. He will be with us in the Mercator-Haus to provide a presentation about “Measuring Dielectric Properties in Millimeter Wave Frequencies with the Material Characterization Kit (MCK)”.
The event will also include a Q&A session about “Karriereplanung mit Familie”. This session will be organized by Prof. Clara Saraceno and Prof. Niels Benson.

2021
The first MARIE seminar in 2021 will take place on March 1st.
Topic of the seminar will be "Radar".
We are happy to announce that Dr. Jürgen Hasch (Robert Bosch GmbH) will give a key note talk entitled "The rising Wave of Millimeter-Wave Sensing". The 2nd key note will be given by Prof. Henk Wymeerch (Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden) on "Localization in 5G and Beyond: enablers, methodologies, and challenges".

We are glad to announce that Prof. Anja K. Skrivervik - École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne - will give a keynote talk on "Implanted Antennas: Key Performance Indicators and Efficiency".
In addition to contributions from MARIEs PhD students a tutorial and hands-on workshop on research data management will be given by Dr. S. Yaser Moussavi Alashloo.

2020
The first seminar 2020 will take place at Ruhr-University Bochum on February 12th.
Six experts outside of MARIE are invited who will mainly focus on THz applications.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the seminar scheduled for April 16th was cancelled.
Due to the current situation the third seminar 2020 will take place virtually on June 19th.

2019
We are happy to announce that in the upcoming seminar there will be an additional workshop on the topic of "Tunneling Time Limit in THz Devices" starting at 1.30 pm.. The talks will be given by Prof. Michael Feignov (Technical University of Vienna), Dr. Oliver Passon (Bergische Universität Wuppertal) and by Dr. Xavier Oriols Pladevall (Autonomous University of Barcelona).
The next MARIE seminar will take place at the Ruhr University Bochum on Wednesday, June 5th 2019.

We are glad to announce that Dr.-Ing. Reinhold Herschel – Fraunhofer FHR – will give a keynote speech on “3D Imaging and Material Inspection with Integrated Millimeter Wave Systems”.
His research interests include millimeter wave systems and imaging for radar applications.
Also we are glad to announce a second keynote speech from Prof. Dr.-Ing. Michael Vogt – Ruhr University Bochum – with the topic “Radar systems and Concepts for the Detection, Reconstruction, and Classification of Objects”.
His research interests include measurement systems for processing industry and medicine based on ultrasonic and microwave as well as imaging and classification.
The 3rd MARIE seminar 2019 will take place on October 14th. Venue for this seminar will be the University of Wuppertal.
We are glad to announce that Prof. Jean-Francois Lampin - University of Lille - will join the seminar and contribute with a key note talk.
